Leg Circle Utep 2 Step and Killer Crossover Move Mastery

This blog post is about a move I came up with when I was training this summer. This move I came up with is called Leg circle set up, and the UTEP 2 step and its counter Leg circle Killer crossover.

The reason I came up with this move is because of the original master of the UTEP 2 step which is "Tim Hardaway". I really like how Tim Hardaway used these moves in transition and sometimes in the half court to make his defender look silly.

This move to me is really not game realistic but can be used in a game in some game situations if you practice it daily until the mastery comes.

If you never used this move,it still will improve your dribbling ability. This move I came up with have the same concepts of Tim Hardaway signature go to moves and his counters if you want to see me breaking down his signature moves Go Here.



Master the Leg Circle


The first way to master the first move which is a setup move which is the leg circle is to work on this move in a stationary setting.

The way to master this move is by circling the ball around your leg in a continuous motion and pattern. The key with this move is having overall cupping control which is a crucial.

 This move is pretty easy to master but the next progression to this same move but you add little jump stop as you circle the ball around your leg.

This move is similar to how Tim Hardaway did his first  set up move which was the 2 foot jump stop between the legs

.If you want to make this move effective, you have to master this set up first to allow the next two counters to be effective. The same principles apply just add a jump stop to this move either practicing it in a stationary stance or by jogging up the court leg circling around your leg.

Master the Leg Circle UTEP 2 Step


The counter to the leg circle is the UTEP 2 step angle crossover this move is very effective while your attacking a defender that's on the the side while your in transition.

The key to this move is to sell the leg circle real hard and make that UTEP 2 step angle crossover quick and hard as you physical can!

Once again, the way to work on this move is an progressive manner which is stationary then progress to walking, jogging and finally full out sprinting with this move.

Beware this move has ankle breaking ability to make your defender look silly trying to guard you!

Master the Leg Circle Killer Crossover


The final counter to the leg circle is the leg circle killer crossover. This move is very advance in my opinion the reason is because it takes ultimate dribbling control.

 The way to perform this move is to sell the leg circle between the legs real hard when you see the defender jump to cut your driving lane off you immediately counter back between the same leg that you did the leg circle with.

This move is great to use when the defender is running alongside with you trying to catch up with you in the open court.

In Conclusion, this move is something I did to be innovative and make my own version of what Tim Hardaway made famous.

The choice is yours to work on this move just for ball handling and dribbling practice or try to incorporate these moves in your dribble move arsenal.

This what makes the game fun to me because I can have the same move that a great player had and put my own spin to it.
